218 – Compensatory Time

I. Purpose

The HCSO reserves the right to restrict usage of compensatory time or require any employee to deplete his or her accrued compensatory hours in accordance with the agency’s needs.

II. Policy

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) employees may accrue up to two hundred forty (240) hours of compensatory time, or a lower amount determined by the Sheriff, which may be used at the discretion of the employee’s supervisor.
