Notice: Department Policy 122 has temporarily been removed for revision.
Department Policy 122 – Senior Deputy Program is intended to recognize those deputies who have 16 years of service in the State of Texas as a Peace Officer and hold a Master Peace Officer Proficiency Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Upon achieving both criteria, certified deputies are authorized to wear Senior Deputy chevrons on their uniform. This policy does not address and is not tied to salary and benefits in regards to the step pay as a Senior Deputy. The language used in this current policy may have caused unintended confusions to team members. Thus, we are taking the current policy down for revision.
